The FCR Program will improve the integration of internationally trained workers into the work force by working with key stakeholders to implement projects that will facilitate the assessment and recognition of qualifications acquired outside of Canada.
What is foreign credential recognition?
Foreign Credential Recognition is the process of verifying that the education and job experience obtained in another country are equal to the standards established for Canadian workers.

Under the new Pan-Canadian Framework for the Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Qualifications, foreign-trained workers who submit an application to be licensed or registered to work in certain fields will be advised within one year whether their qualifications will be recognized.
