Needs Assessments

Essential Skills are the foundation for learning job-specific skills. Addressing the Essential Skills issues of job seekers and workers can help you to better support them to get a job, succeed at work and adapt to change.

Use these tools to:

  • better understand essential skills needed for the workplace;
  • help identify essential skills strengths and areas to consider for improvement;
  • ensure workers have the essential skills to get the job done; and
  • inform training and career decisions.

It is important to note that these tools are not formal essential skills assessments.

We encourage you to adapt the tools to meet your needs. To determine if written permission is required, please visit Apply for Crown Copyright Clearance.

Visit How to Order for ordering information.
