Under the Public Service Income Benefit Plan for Survivors of Employees Slain on Duty, eligible survivors of slain federal employees are provided with a supplementary benefit which is added to other pension benefits that the employee would have earned. Most often, this takes the form of monthly payments. These supplementary income benefits are not taxable.
