Homeless Individuals and Families Information System Initiative (HIFIS)
The HIFIS is a free, user-friendly electronic records management system built for community stakeholders and shelter facilities. It provides a way to collect information about the population using shelters, while assisting in daily operations such as registering clients.

The Homeless Hub
The Homeless Hub is an online research library that contains links to articles, documents, and reports related to Canada’s homeless population. The site also includes a resource database, social networking tools, curriculum materials for educators and community engagement strategies.

Canadian Homelessness Research Network
The Canadian Homelessness Research Network (CHRN) is dedicated to helping end homelessness by improving the impact of homelessness research on policy and practice, and by bringing together top researchers on homelessness in Canada. By focusing its activities on networking, education and knowledge mobilization, the CHRN provides opportunities for sharing and collaboration between national and international researchers, service providers and policy makers.

Raising the Roof
This organization plays a key role in facilitating shared strategies to prevent and address homelessness in individual communities. Raising the Roof has allocated over $1.5 million to more than 90 local groups across Canada working to reduce homelessness at the community level. Its signature national campaign known as Toque Tuesday raises funds for, and awareness of, the fight against homelessness in Canada.

Parliamentary Research Branch — Homelessness
The Depository Services Program provides a listing of Government of Canada publications, with over 100,000 free and priced Government of Canada research spanning two decades.

Homeless Nation
Homeless Nation is Canada's only website created by and for homeless Canadians. Through a national network of outreach workers, the Homeless Nation project is dedicated to providing the tools for homeless Canadians to share their stories, unique philosophies, and point of views. In addition, this site provides an opportunity for the general public to interact with and learn more about Canada's homeless population.

The Ladybug Foundation
Hannah Taylor, founder of the Ladybug Foundation, began raising funds for homelessness at a very young age, after seeing a homeless individual eating out of a garbage can. To date, she has raised over $1 million for charity.

Metro Vancouver — Regional Homelessness
The Greater Vancouver Regional Steering Committee on Homelessness (RSCH) comprises over 40 members representing service providers, community-based organizations and all levels of government. The RSCH developed and oversees the implementation of the Regional Homelessness Plan for Greater Vancouver.

Library of Parliament — Homelessness
Documents and reports that were originally prepared to provide background and analysis of issues to Canadian parliamentarians are available to the Canadian public through this site.

Intraspec.ca — Homeless in Canada
Intraspec.ca is an online journal with writings and research on matters of health and well-being. It provides selected resources, news and statistics on housing and homelessness in Canada. Resources include national and provincial housing and homeless initiatives; developments and services in major cities; local Ottawa services and charities; research and policy organizations; food banks by province; and a customized Poverty and Homelessness search engine.

Alliance to End Homelessness in Ottawa
The Alliance to End Homelessness is a non-partisan coalition of community stakeholders committed to working collaboratively to end homelessness by gaining and promoting a better understanding of homelessness and by advocating for strategies to end it.
